Why I am running for County Supervisor
I have been careful and deliberate in my work on council because that is the kind of leader I am. I seek opinions, even if they are not necessarily my own, so I am sure I am not missing anything. I study the issues and want to hear all sides — because that is the only way I know how to represent the community from which I live. I’d be honored to have your vote this June.
I’ve been active in environmental issues and especially in protecting our coastline from oil and cleaning up Haskell’s Beach of rusty oil debris. I opposed development at Bishop Ranch several times on council and am a conservationist around open space and beach areas.
I was a police officer for over 30 years and understand what it takes to protect our communities. I want to make sure ‘Noleta’ and Goleta get their fair share of county services. When I was Mayor of Goleta, I worked hard to expand tech companies in the Goleta Valley so we could have good, local, well-paying jobs.
Today, more than ever, we need leadership on the Board of Supervisors to kickstart our local economy, create jobs throughout the county and get out of the way of innovation. I will choose innovation, transparency and accountability over doing things the way we always have.
On Election Day, remember that action speaks louder than words. Thank you in advance for your consideration and vote on Tuesday, June 3rd.
