I was the first candidate to announce my intention to run for Goleta City Council several weeks ago and I am heartened by the amount of support I have received to date. I have already received the endorsement of Goleta Unified School District Trustee Manor Buck, Jean Perloff, Frank Cobb and many more that will be listed here soon.
You will likely be reading a story in the paper tomorrow that each of the three incumbents of the Goleta City Council held a joint press conference to announce that they would be running for another term. Rarely in races such as these do you see three incumbents announce their intentions together at the same press conference and it very much gives the appearance that they plan on running as a slate in November's election.
Clearly, the voters will decide whether all three deserve reelection and, although obvious to most, I want to make it clear that by no means is a voter required to vote for all three candidates that create a slate. Voters can vote for up to three candidates -- whether that means one, two or three candidates.
I would urge all voters to review each council member's record, experience and what they have said and done before choosing whom to vote for in November. I offer you a choice -- a choice that is backed by extensive experience in law enforcement, budgets and in running organizations.
I would be honored to have your endorsement in this race and I can't win without your help. Email me today with your address and I will send you and endorsement envelope to sign and return to me. Thank you.
